This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose and on what legal basis.
Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Kai P. Bender, LL.M., Rechtsanwalt (attorney at law), Breite Straße 22, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, info@ra-bender.de. Further details can be found in the legal notice.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by an external hosting provider, with which a data processing agreement is in place. Each time the website is accessed, the server automatically logs access data (usually including the page requested, date and time, browser type, operating system and IP address). These server log files are stored for a maximum of seven days and are evaluated solely to ensure that the website operates without disruption and securely. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in the technical security and stability of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No additional analytics or tracking tool is used.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, I process the data you enter (name, email address, optionally phone number, your message) in order to handle and answer your request. In addition, technical details of the request are stored (time, page accessed, browser and device type). The form does not store your IP address; the hosting provider processes it when the website is accessed, as described in the section “Hosting and server log files”. The request is stored in the website’s database on the hosting provider’s server and is also sent by email to my mailbox, which is hosted by the same provider. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request is aimed at engaging me as your lawyer, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to handle your request. Providing your data is voluntary; without it, however, I cannot handle your request. Please do not send confidential documents through this form. A lawyer-client relationship only comes into being once I have expressly accepted your matter.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies itself and does not store comparable information on your device, not even when you use the contact form. No analytics, marketing or tracking services and no third-party services (such as external fonts, maps or captcha services) are embedded.
Data security
This website is transmitted in encrypted form via TLS/SSL. You can recognize this by the lock symbol in your browser and by the address bar beginning with “https://”.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
Right to object: You have the right, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of your personal data that is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) (Art. 21 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de.
